These few weeks have been very busy. First time i have to get into night calls as well. And not to mention, calls and meetings ending after 7pm. I was actually relieved to be able to leave work at 6 on one of the days 2 weeks ago – when i was doing 8am to 7pm – sometimes 8pm, that i actually told my colleagues sitting nearby me that i was actually going back at 6pm!
But the experience was well worth it – liaising with teams outside our own region (read: Europe) was not easy. Time was a big issue, although most of the time, they were the ones giving in as it’s still in the day for them (when we are already getting ready to leave office). Overall, good experience – got to really listen to what they have to say as I’m not used to their slang yet. Somehow i felt the way English speak as if they are eating something. And oh, don’t get me started on the French and the Irish. Hehe.

This morning is sunny, and i like it. I actually liked the sunrise view from my living room this morning that i wanted to snap a picture of it. As i walked to the window i smelled something similar, and i never liked those smell – smell of somebody burning something in the open! After a while, i start seeing smoke, and my beautiful sunrise has become a beautiful, yellowish, smokish sunrise.
I thought i would be able to smell fresh air this morning, since i have been awake since 4.30am and back to Penang after the night in SP. But it’s the smell of something burning that greets me instead. From trying to feel awake to feeling choked. Don’t this people have that little common sense that morning freshness are supposed to be like that – as it FRESH?

Earlier, it was the 1 Permatang, 2 Bukits and 1 Batang (can’t remember the other one in Terengganu). Now is Penanti’s turn. It seems that bi-election is so in-trend now, just like statutory declaration some time back. Don’t even know why they want to stand for election just to resign from their constituency just like that. Unless you are dead or something, there’s really no reason for bi-elections because somebody resigned from their post.
If they aren’t capable in the first place, why parties field them as their candidate? Is it because at that particular moment, there wasn’t anyone more capable? Or was it some upper-hand thingy going around? I’m not into politics so you tell me. Shouldn’t there be some kind of fines or penalties should anybody wants to resign from becoming MPs or statesmen so that the rakyat don’t have to bear the bi-election costs?

It’s 7.40am in the morning. It’s very hot & humid. The sun is bright like it has been for the past week, but there’s something else this time. It rains. Yep – rain, with the sun still shining very brightly. Damn. Luckily it’s not like 2-3 minutes kinda of rain. It’s still raining albeit not that heavy – hopefully the rain will cool down the weather a bit.
Just noticed that the sun these days has been quite powerful, strong and mightly hot. And i think the weather is kinda humid too these days. Just take a look at the amount of clouds in this pictures – i’m amazed if it’s not humid!

I think i reviewed Buy.com videos on Youtube before and Howie (the lead in the video) is no longer new to me. What’s new in the new 2009 video is that he introduces his son Alex. In the video, the son was buying something over at Buy.com – an Xbox. Apparently it’s on sale and he got better deals compared to Bestbuy & Walmart.
Besides, he’ll get free shipping as well with his purchase. And since he’s using his dad’s credit card to pay for the purchase, that’s even a better deal. Howie would got to chill after that. He should with the Xbox that his son just got. Heh.
Today is the 2nd day i become a full time at home dad to take care of Nadia. This whole week it’s all about me taking care of Nadia at home alone. No help from my wife or my mom whatsoever. Reason? My mom went on holiday for a week, and my wife just joined a new company and couldn’t take any annual leave yet. So, as a responsible father and husband (chewah!), i took 1 week leave to take care of Nadia.
Mind you, i never actually took care of Nadia alone yet for the past 7 months. The most i did is play with her when my wife is taking a shower, feed her milk, and play with her till she’s sleepy again when she woke up in the middle of the nights. That’s it. I can practically count using both my hands the times i actually change the diapers for her. So, my mom and wife actually asked if i could do it – 1 week alone with Nadia.

I wasn’t really sure what was all the fuss in mouse hunting in Facebook. It seems that everybody i knew on Facebook played Mousehunt and seem to got hooked to it. I don’t know – i decided to jump the wagon and try out what’s all the fuss about. For now, i’m still unable to really grasp what’s the whole game is about. All i know if set up trap, bait it, blow the horn and see if you got any mice in your trap. If you do, you got points and gold.
And the cycle goes on. There’s many locations for you to start hunting the mouse from – the town itself where you first started out, there’s harbour and even mountain for you to go hunting. Too bad it was set during the medieval times – else we could probably set traps in rv as well.

Since i was smaller, i always have the soft spot for watches. Frankly speaking, i’m not sure what in a watch that intrigue me so much. Probably it’s the shininess. Probably it’s the look of it. Probably it’s the prestige of wearing some kind of cool watches makes me feel good. Problem is, i’m just able to admire them and not buy any of them – being very expensive and stuffs.
When I went thru Kenmar Watches, i’m actually amazed by the selection of the watches and also the price. The site’s navigation, while not the best that i have seen, at least i won’t get lost in the maze of links. I was looking thru the selection of the watches and actually found the watch i was looking for in Malaysia – Timex T49626ea Expedition Rugged Field Mens Watch.

Still with borrowed modem from Steven, this time i manage to test the Celcom HSDPA speed in Alor Setar when i went over to my parents’-in-law place for the weekends. Frankly speaking, i wasn’t expecting much as my previous experience with 3G at Alor Setar was not so pleasing. So i turn up my notebook, plugged the modem in and waited. And surprisingly, blinking blue LED indicating HSDPA connection lits up!
Feeling lucky, i tried dialing, and once connected, steady blue LED stays on the modem, and i was actually on the net surfing! Was able to Facebook – viewed videos on Facebook, photos, and even updated my Facebook status on Sunday. From the dialer, i was kinda impressed that while streaming the video in Facebook, the connection stays consistent at about 300kbps. I wasn’t expecting much from wireless broadband but Celcom has somehow given me some hope.

I was happily going to work this morning, thinking that i only need to support Thailand today as Singapore’s on Easter holiday. That is, until i reach office, open up my email, and realised that Thailand’s PM have already announced today as a special emergency holiday. Then it struck me – i’m left with no country to support today!
And needless to say, here i am back at home since 2pm just now. Decided to tell my boss that i would 2nd half off as there’s no point for me staying back in the office anyway. Went through the photos that i shot recently to see if there’s anything i can process and post it up, while sharpening up my Photoshop skill – already got the book so got to utilize it! Hehe.
