There's more to Blogshares than just fantasy share trading game, which I initially thought Blogshares was. Jase initially introduced me to Blogshare, and from there, I tried to grab whatever info that's available for me to play this game, and bring me up to this level. As of last week, I'm ranked 105 among all the Blogshares players, considering the fact that I just played, and still learning the trade.
The basic premise of the game is simple : You initially have B$500 as soon as you are validated as a member, and with that money given to you, make more, and become top players. How to make more money? Shares, ideas, bonds - that's a few stuffs that you can play with, and can make money from. Chips also can be another way members make money in Blogshares; although they have no official face value, they can fetch up to B$30M/chip traded among the members in the forum, which is pretty much to give you a good headstart. When I start the game, I only have B$500. I started off buying my own blog shares & Jase's, and selling it off after some time for some extra B$. Then, I came across a very good tip in the forum : buy cheap shares from Most Undervalued Stock, then sell off for a profit. Since it's cheap (~B$0.20), i can buy in bulk, and keep it. Then, my biggest break came :

I gained like B$788,548 overnight

Quickly sold that (plus showing off the achievement to Jase :P), and go buy more shares to make money.
I came across in one of the forum threads that chips actually worth quite a lot, B$25M/chip at that time. I figure, if i were to make more money, i would need to have money to play with. So off I go, selling my hard-earned chips at the Chips Marketplace in the forum, for B$30M/chip. With that, I have loads of B$ to play with, and loads of shares to buy.
After a while, trading blog shares doesn't yield that much B$ anymore. Upon checking the FAQ, I discover Ideas trading. Higher price, higher risk, but higher income. So, with caution, I tried ideas trading, initially buying *cheap* ideas in bulk to try. But then, i found that i need to wait quite some time before any price changes, so i figure out there should be another way to make money out of ideas, and that's how I came across bonds. I quickly bond my ideas, and leave it for ppl to buy, and when the price for the ideas goes up, i removed my bonds, and sold the ideas instead…
that's how I make money.
Recently, I just found out about artefacts, thanks to Island Dave's first Blogging contest. I won some of his ideas, and he gave quite an in-depth explaination about ideas, and some quick intro to artefacts world. Now that I know, I'll give artefacts collecting a try, not much of gaining money, but just for the fun of it
Hoped this post gives some heads-up for the members who are trying to get into this very much elaborate game. Hail Blogshares!!
