Decided to post something about food today, after discovering something interesting about some of the foods we love to eat
I was having lunch with my colleagues when I asked one of them about the food she's ordering, as she was still waiting for her food. Her answer? “Cheh hu (if translated directly from Hokkien = green fish) & poh piah“. I was like, ”OK…“, but in my mind was thinking what the heck is this ”cheh hu“ thingy? Decided to wait till the food come and guess what is it : pasembur. I was like, ”Huh? This is (pointing to the pasembur) the 'cheh hu'? Nothing 'cheh' (green) on it ler….“ I didn't ask how the name came about, just let her finish her food.
Another interesting observation was made by my another colleague, during another lunch time back some time ago. One of our colleagues ordered Kickapoo, and this colleague and I were playing with the bottle that suddenly struck to my colleague's mind : Rearrange Kickapoo, and you will get ”Kick-A-Poo”. Wahlau…. like that also he can think of
