I was casually reading my daily dosage of The Star yesterday when I came across this news : Bar calls to porn servers, Telekom urged. Here's some excerpt to the news :

A teacher who was billed more than RM300 for three telephone calls to Papua New Guinea has urged the authorities to stop international direct dialling (IDD) fraud via the Internet.

The complainant, known only as Amit, 53, said Telekom Malaysia had explained that the calls were made to overseas servers of pornography sites.

“None of the adults in my family or my children have ever gone into the sites,” he claimed.

Yeah right….if if any of them went to visit such sites (or maybe he himself?), who would say it out aloud??

Amit said it was impossible for computers to make IDD calls as the “Internet protocol is different from that of the IDD protocol.”

Err… impossible? what do he know about computers?? If you are using dialup modem to connect to the Internet, you can actually dial any numbers to do anything at all with the computer : fax, make phone call, even surf porn sites.

I think it's this kind of customers that are actually flooding the Tech Support call centres with unnecessary calls. They always have the same thinking : “I didn't do anything!! It happened by itself!!”
F**k…….
