Christmas is always associated with kids doing good to earn some brownie points in the eyes of Santa Claus, hoping that they can look good (in the eye of Santa) and get presents (*yawn*). Please don't come bashing me and labelling me as a Christmas ruiner - it's just that i think that it's too childish to believe in this, as some people I know (yeah, real life people) that really believe Santa Claus is real. But anyway, this is the not the main reason for this post :D

Christmas is not always about being good. Oh please… don't tell me you guys never do anything nasty for Christmas?? That would be boring!!! Personally, I do not celebrate Christmas, but I enjoy the atmosphere of it - gifts, the trees - feels just like the whole town is so alive. Back during university days, my housemates and I almost never missed Christmas - we always gather around on Christmas and do gift exchange with other friends (coursemates) that rented houses nearby as well. And there's one particular year, we went to the extend of getting our own Christmas tree!! Of course we didn't buy it - being students, we have limited budget. So, we have to come out with some plan in order not to ruin the spirit of Christmas.

On the night before the Christmas eve (23rd), we have determined that we need to have a Christmas tree. Since we do not have any budget, hence there's one brilliant mind suggested - cut one branch of a pine tree and make a Christmas tree (since we already have running lights to decorate it)! So, that night, we went hunting for pine trees in a few quite isolated places - Bukit Jambul (near EQ Hotel), the beach in front of Seagate - until we finally managed to get one that was small enough that we could put in the car trunk. That was already past midnight.

So, we quickly got back and get a tin of sand that we can use to make the tree stand. By the time we finished decorating the tree, it was already 5am, and I have a tutorial class at 8am. So, we just sat there chatting, while those who cannot stand anymore were sleeping soundly. I made it to the tutorial physically, but mentally i was already sleeping
