It’s August again, the month of the national day celebration. It’s the month where last year, there’s a project where it encourages Malaysian bloggers to blog in Malay language. I followed along and some of my posts was plugged into the site as well.

This year, I intended to do the same. I was thinking of blogging in Malay for the whole of August, but i guessed that would have to wait till my next post, since this post is already in English :) What else do us Malaysians do during the month of August every year? Besides flying our Jalur Gemilang flags, there seems to be not much activity hyping up the nation’s birthday. Oh…. there’s always pre-Merdeka sale or something going on.

Maybe they should start playing patriotic songs over the TV or radio channels or something. But then again, maybe it’s a bad idea. But then… it’s still a cool idea. Maybe they could play it right before news time, like TV1 & TV2 used to do years back - Roy (was it Roy?) singing some upbeat patriotic songs before the news start. I can still remember some of the tunes - in fact, I just heard them back like few days back. Kinda refresh the memory of the songs.

Got to go fly a flag. Wait… I already HAVE a Malaysian flag flying in my office cube! :)
