If you’ve been online long enough, you should have already seen Adsense and probably some other in-text ads like Kontera. If you haven’t had a clue, those are the so-called Pay Per Click advertisement, meant to let you earn money when people click on the ads on your site. Those are the same exact thing that you can use to get traffic to your site.
Pay per click advertising works by getting the advertisers to bid on the keywords that they want to use to get the traffic back to their sites. The plus side of pay per click compared to traditional advertisements is the advertisers (can be me, you or anybody) pay only when somebody actually clicks the advert (on somebody’s site) and gets directed to the advertiser’s site. And when that happened, the host site will be paid for the click as well, based on the agreed sum.
The concept works for both advertisers and the hosts - the hosts gets the money by selling ads space; the advertisers gets the traffic that they wanted. Although this is nothing new, I haven’t had the nerve to put in money to drive traffic to my sites - this blog, or my money making blog - i just don’t see the need of it. Unless, i’m using my sites to earn money - affiliate sales, product sales - which needed a lot of traffic, then probably I’ll see a need for pay per click advertisements. But until then, i’m happy with what I have now
