Spams galore
I noticed that recently, my Akismet plugin has been netting a lot of spams. I don’t know where does those spam comes from, but it can be annoying for me to go in and take a look if any of those are not actually spam. I have legitimate comments that sometimes fall into Akismet filter – probably because of the IP or domain – and I have to literally wade thru tens of spams to recover those comments.
It can be annoying – these spams – although Akismet did manage to keep them from my actual comments, it still bothers me how can the spam gets to me in the first place. Was it because of the pinging portal that I used that lured those spammers to my blog? I usually only pings 3 places – Ping-O-Matic, Technorati, PPS.
I remembered there was one time (when I was still using NucleusCMS), i was pinging Weblogs and got a lot of spams that I have to use spam filter. And when i stopped pinging Weblogs, most of the spams stops. Maybe I should stop pinging some pinging portals. Maybe.
