*spoiler ahead - stop readin if you intended to watch the movie without knowing anything beforehand*
This weekend is another movie-watching weekend. Went and watched “Mr Bean’s Holiday” yesterday morning - again, took advantage of the RM5/ticket early bird special that Cathay Cineplex (previously known as Megapavlion) offer. Anyway, I’m not going to write much about the movie - I’ll comment on what I saw in the movie.
There’s only 2 things that I noticed in the movie - Mr Bean himself, and blatant advertising. Why?
“Mr Bean’s Holiday” is the 2nd Mr Bean movie after “Bean: The Ultimate Disaster Movie“. I thought the movie would be better than the first one, but somehow, it does disappoint a bit. Don’t get me wrong - it’s a good, typical Mr Bean movie, but that’s it - typical Mr Bean movie. Unlike the first movie where Mr Bean was actually being serious, in this 2nd edition of the movie, he’s being himself. If you watch the Mr Bean series, you’ll get what i meant.
If you have already watched the movie, you’ll know why I say there’s blatant advertising in the movie. If you haven’t noticed it, let me point you the obvious - Sony Handycam. I didn’t even wanna touch Mr Bean’s obsession with Mini cars - that’s his trademark already by now, but Sony Handycam? There’s even one scene where tanks runned down the bicycle that he park by the roadside, and the Sony Handycam is still intact and recording.
If you like Mr Bean series, you’ll probably like this movie. It’s nothing but Mr Bean for the whole of 1.5 hours. Fun to watch if you really have nothing else to do and would like to kill your time.
