Meet The Robinsons
*spoiler ahead – stop reading if you intended to watch the movie without me clouding your mind*
Really a movie weekend. Went to watch Meet The Robinsons morning yesterday – again, taking advantage of the morning bird ticket at RM5/person
We loved discounts, although that meant sacrificing some sleep during weekends to watch the morning show.
When we went into the cinema and sat thru all the advertisements. Then the movie starts, and Mickey Mouse and gang came out with “The Boat Builder” cartoon. I was like, “Am I in the correct cinema ar?”. But later, I found out that the Mickey Mouse cartoon was just the “appetizer” – the real deal starts 5 mins later.
I wouldn’t go much into the details of the movie – it’s about a boy who time-travelled to the future to find out he’s the creator of the future, and his roommate was out to get him. A classic tale of a boy blaming another boy for his shortcomings and wanted to destroy the future. The message of the movie is pretty simple – you’ve got to keep moving forward.
Which is exactly the learning point for both the hero and the villain in the cartoon – they keep looking back and blaming others too much that they refused to move on. Until they see what happened in the future that is. It’s a typical futuristic kind of cartoon, where everything’s possible in the future world – time travelling, personal aircraft, bubble travel – but it’s still fun, and worth the RM5 that I paid for the ticket.
I personally loved the part where the T-Rex was out to get the main character, but unable to get him because of tight corners. “I had a big head, and little arms”, said the T-Rex while wiggling his little arms. Ferocious, and cute at the same time
If you are looking to bring your kids for a nice movie, consider bringing them to “Meet The Robinsons” – they’ll loved it!
And don’t worry – i’m not paid to write these
