Time to move things up
My trusted PC has already been with me since 2003. Almost ancient in computer world. Pentium 4, DDR RAM – those kind of stuffs. At the time when I bought it, it was one of the top-of-line. But now it’s more like grand-uncle in computer world. And i noticed that the performance is a little sluggish – it’s definitely time to do something.
And no, i’m not changing my hardware – just refreshing something in it. When i first got this machine, it comes with 512MB of RAMs. With today’s application – bittorrent, Office 2003, Firefox, Windows XP – it’s just not enough. And by installing C&C Tiberium Wars didn’t help much either – the loading time and the exit time was killing me – i even get “Low Virtual Memory” when i was exiting the game a few times!
Next best thing to do is upgrade the RAM, since processor would be a little bit hard to find. I went to Swisspac in Bukit Jambul, get 2x 512MB of DDR400 RAM, and plonk it in my system. Now, my system proudly show 1.5GB RAM. And it’s sweet…………
