Happy Belated Mother’s Day

Frankly, I never really see the point of people celebrating Mother’s Day. Again, i think it’s some kind of marketing ploy for the marketing people to jack the prices of flowers up and still be able to sell them like hot cakes. Yes – I may sound like I’m not a filial son, but i know of a few sons that treat their moms badly on normal days, but be extra good during Mother’s Day. Ironic?

Maybe – I’m definitely not that kind of person. I may not be trained to show affection openly – I never really said “I loved you, mom” before. There’s only one time where I kissed my mom on the cheek – the day before i was ordained as a monk. For Siamese parents, being able to watch their son being ordained as a monk is something to look forward for – there’s a saying that for parents who allows their sons to be ordained as monks, they are already having an easier passage to heaven by “clinging” on to the robe their sons wore during monkhood.

I may not show it, but God knows how much I loved my mom. I better not continue – i’m getting emotional :)
