I went to watch the latest installment of the movie “Pirates of The Caribbean” - “At World’s End”, and can’t help but wonder what do the pirates lived their life on. I know that pirates raid ships and other places, and takes in gold and silver coins as their own. But without a place to spend them, what good would those silver & gold do?

Even if they have some place to spend them, how would they spend them? It’s not like they have any departmental stores for them to go to - not during that period of time at least. Hmm… probably they go for hair restoration treatment? Pirates without any hair would still be pirates, so I guess that won’t matter much.
