Tomorrow Malaysia will make history. Tomorrow, a first Malaysian will be on space. Tomorrow, we shall have our own astronaut, or Angkasawan, as we called it. Tomorrow, the whole of Malaysia would be proud that we would be sending our own Malaysian into the space. After 50 years of Independence, we are getting our very own Angkasawan.

Nevermind if the NASA people don’t recognised them as astronaut. Nevermind if we have to pay the Russians a bit more for the Sukhoi planes purchase and use it to offset the Angkasawan programme with the Russian training the 2 Malaysians as cosmonauts. Nevermind that we initially felt cheated that our 2 proud Angkasawans could be called just “space tourists”.

Come tomorrow, it didn’t matter anymore, as the first Malaysian would be blasted into the space. I’m just interested if there would be any cell reception out in the space. Who knows - since Malaysia mobile phone network boleh! :)
