Some people think that some things are better left unsaid. Some say that it should be revealed or discussed to get more out of it. Some people say just let the likes of Neil Crespi to write about it, and fuss less about it. Some people just prefer that it’s not discussed at anywhere and just want to blanket it away.
Whatever it is, from where i look at it, it’s best that whatever just happened recently was not even publicized at all. I’m referring to the recent street demo by Bersih, so-called NGO to upheld justice and demands clean and transparent poll. I’m not a government man, but it’s just i’d like to see things on a different angle. Especially, from the angle of the people running the government.
I always believed that one should look at the overall picture. Not only to view from one angle, means, at the receiving end. Sometimes, we should be looking at the giving side as well. I always use this method when i was a people manager in my old department. People never seem to understand what the management do, and kept complaining. Yes - i complaint myself - but i always say, the management does it for the company’s own good. Besides, if the management where to hear all those complaint, would you have a place to work on in the first place?
Same goes to the government. Come on, it’s not easy running a company, what more a government with a population of 20+ million people. And with attracting foreign people to come visit Malaysia in this Visit Malaysia year, it just doesn’t make sense why Bersih has to come out and do a street demo during this time. Street demos are just not our thing - that’s something that our neighbouring countries would do - but definitely not our culture. Malaysia has been in peace for 50 years, albeit some scuffles going around the races - i guessed we are doing kinda good in keeping peace. And that’s what we should savour - peace.
Not that i’m giving in to corrupt government officials or stuffs like that - i’m furious with them embezzling with our tax money. At least, i’m glad that something is being done to address that.
Enough said. And you opposition people, stay away from commenting on my blog if you have nothing but hate. Be constructive, please.
