Seriously, i don’t understand how some people in our country don’t see that it’s actually full of opportunity and chances. Well, the government servants and policies aside, it’s actually way better off compared to some other developed countries. Yep - we at Bolehland like to compare, but it’s usually not my style to compare stuffs. To me, as long as we are peaceful and harmony, why should we bother with other countries, especially if they only indirectly affects us?
But it’s not other countries that bothers me, but it’s the people in our own country. Yep - i know where i’m getting into. Lately, there have been lots of street demonstration. Or peaceful rally, they choose to call it. But really, is our government policy and the policy makers themselves that bad that we need to take things to the street? What are the impressions the tourists going to have on our country? That we are some hooligans with street demonstrations going on almost every weekend?
Street demos create chaos. And gives the perception as the country is not peaceful. When they have the impression we are not peaceful, tourists are not going to come, and the real estate agent are going to have a hard time selling homes to those people for the “Malaysia My Second Home” program.
Realistically speaking, our country is peaceful. If the current government is defective, they cannot be around for so long, right? Besides, what is still lacking with our current government? Tell me - which government (besides our kiasu neighbour) that has a very efficient government running them? Corruption happens everywhere, and while i don’t condone corruption, it’s not only happening unique to our country.
Somehow, i felt that these people who started the street demos are ungrateful to what they have now. They probably didn’t realised that if they were still where they wanna be, they wouldn’t end being lawyers or doctors. And i really mean it.
So, my ultimate question is: Should those ungrateful people be allowed in our country? And oh - keep those seditious comments to yourself. I’ll delete it right away once i see one.
