War will start

Middle of tonight, Chinese people of Hokkien clan will pray to Thnee Kong (Sky God). Not sure what or how the tradition starts, but in Penang, tonight would be the night where the sound of firecrackers matches the first day of Chinese New Year (if not even more). Lucky for me, tonight i’m not in Penang. Am back at my parent’s house in SP. For now, it’s still nothing yet, but if it’s in Penang, the “war” should have already started now.
If it’s in Penang, i can barely hear what’s on the TV and i have to either crank up the volume, or go near the tv stands. To be frank, i kinda miss the firecracker sound this year. It sounded way too quiet this year. Sounds like i’m contradicting myself.

Happy Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day

In 1.5 hrs time, it’s the new Lunar New Year. We are welcoming the year of Golden Tiger. And at the same time, we will also be celebrating Valentine’s Day. Coincidentally, this year, both occasion fall on the same day. Fun or not i don’t know, but what i knew is that the road, highway and anything commutable was jammed. Lucky that i’m already out of Penang since last night, so i don’t even want to know how the shopping complexes would be.
Even if i wanted to change Grohe faucets at the shopping complexes, i would rather wait till Wednesday – at least, the crowd should not be that bad anymore then. Ok enough ranting, since it’s New Year and Valentine’s at the same time, here’s me wishing all my readers (if any, hehe) a very happy Chi-lentine – Chinese New Year and Valentines

Workshop in the middle of the night

3.35am. That’s the time i started writing this post. Why? That’s because i’m sitting at my living room, listening to 2-day workshop located in the US. And i’m dialing in from here. Yes. Penang. Here i am, listening to the phone, in the middle of the night, alone in the living hall, staring at the tiles while trying to comprehend what was on the live meeting screen.
Tonight is the first night. Tomorrow is another night. Hopefully i won’t be dead by the time i go on leave for Chinese New Year. Talking about that, Chinese New Year is in 4 days. Looking forward to that although i’m not sure what i look forward for. Anyway, i’ll just need the rest.
